Compact 70-300mm lens with Diffractive Optics
Ring-type Ultra-sonic motor (USM)
18 lens elements arranged in 12 groups
Filter thread specification of 58mm
Closest focusing distance of 4.6
EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS
The EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS benefits from the use of DO (Diffractive Optics) element which successfully limits the size and weight of the telephoto lens while imparting no effect on the optical quality of the same. A ring-type USM (Ultra-Sonic Motor) makes the auto-focusing feature super-quiet and fast. The lens is easily transported with no risk of the zoom ring accidentally turning and extending the lens front element, exposing it to knocks and bumps, thanks to a zoom lock feature.
A superior performance, ultra-compact telephoto zoom lens with Canon's Image Stabilization. These Diffractive Optics elements are combined to reduce size and boost image quality. AF is super-fast and silent with a ring-type USM, and it focuses down to 4.6 feet without rotating the front element. A new zoom lock button keeps the lens safe and secure when not in use or used at the wide angle.
