  • 43.8x32.9mm 51.4MP CMOS medium format sensor
  • X-Processor Pro
  • Detachable 3.69M-dot EVF
  • 2.36M-dot touchscreen LCD back panel
  • Compact and lightweight body
  • Weather resistant structure
  • The FujiFilm GFX 50S is a medium format mirrorless digital camera that accomplishes the difficult goal of fitting a huge high performance image sensor into a compact and lightweight camera body that is smaller than some full frame DSLRs. The camera uses a 51.4MP medium format 43.8 x 32.9mm CMOS sensor that is 1.7x larger than a full frame (35mm) sensor. The larger sensor allows greater sharpness, detail, and control over depth of field than smaller sensors. The GFX 50S offers uncompromising image quality with modular peripherals allowing you to bring exactly what you need to capture the shot.

51.4 MP CMOS Sensor and X-Processor Pro Image Processor
The GFX 50S uses a large 51.4MP 43.8 x 32.9mm CMOS Fujifilm G format sensor paired with an X-Processor to achieve incredible tones, sharpness, and a broad dynamic range. The GFX 50S has a native ISO sensitivity of 100-12800 that can be expanded to 50-102400 with 14 stops of dynamic range using 14-bit RAW files. The medium format sensor makes this camera very capable of smooth tonal and color transitions for beautiful pictures. The speedy processor optimizes the cameras performance across the board whether exporting RAW files, shooting continuously, or when shooting at extremely high ISO. The GFX 50S is capable of continuously shooting up to 8fps in RAW format, 13fps in compressed RAW format, or 3fps in JPEG format. The GFX 50S can shoot Full HD 1080p at 30fps and allows film simulation effects to be applied to video for different looks.

    Camera Body and Controls
The GFX 50S is constructed using a lightweight magnesium alloy chassis to create a strong and durable camera body that’s been extensively weather sealed at 58 points to resist dust and moisture and is also freezeproof down to 14°F. The compact GFX 50S weighs in at 2 lbs. (920g) which is featherweight for a camera with a sensor of this size and performance.

The GFX 50S features a 3.2” 2.36m dot LCD touch screen with a 3-way tilt hinge that allows for easy menu navigation and image review. The 3 direction screen tilt makes for easier shooting from high or low angles.

The GFX 50S comes with a detachable 3.69m dot electronic viewfinder (EVF) with 100% coverage and a 0.85x magnification. The EVF gives you a 100% accurate field of view for precise composition and the ability to monitor extensive camera settings for complete control.

The GFX 50S has an intuitive control layout that includes an ISO dial, shutter speed dial and focus point selection joystick. A drive button has been added to easily switch between burst, bracketing, and video modes. The GFX 50S also has an E-ink top LCD that displays the cameras settings even when the camera is off.

Dual card slots both support high speed UHS-II SD memory cards. The cards can be configured to store files according to their format, create instant backups in parallel, or write sequentially for high capacity.

The GFX 50S uses the first focal-plane shutter designed for medium format mirrorless cameras. It is a low noise mechanical shutter rated for 150,000 actuations. The camera also utilizes an electronic shutter which can even be combined with the mechanical shutter to get shutter speeds up to 1/16000sec.

    117-Point Autofocus System
The GFX 50S uses a contrast detection autofocus system with 117 focus points which can be broken down to 425 sub-points for even more precise AF refinement. You can easily select focus points or zones using the focus joystick or rear touchscreen. The GFX 50S employs many features to ensure you’re able to get accurate focus when shooting in the shallow depth of field that medium format provides including: focus peaking, frame magnification, and a distance indicator bar.
