This lightweight camera utilizes a GR Engine V Image Processor that pairs well with the autofocus system to create lightning fast operation and focus that can lock onto a subject in as short as 0.2 seconds. The Ricoh GR II is a one of a kind camera that allows you advanced imaging capabilities but is small enough to slip right into your pocket!

Sensor and Image Processor

The Ricoh GR II features a 16.2MP APS-C CMOS Sensor that's capable of producing low noise images when using ISO sensitivities up to 25600. The GR II produces sharp images with highly accurate colors and benefits from the omission of a low-pass filter. The GR II also features the GR Engine V Image Processor that makes shooting photos a joy with high speed and efficient operation. No need to worry about missing that shot with a blazing fast start up time of 1 second! The GR II continuously shoots at 4 fps in JPEG mode and 6.1 fps when using RAW format. Take control of your post-processing with the GR II's exceptional adobe DNG RAW format with faster load times and compact file size.

Lens

The Ricoh GR II features a street photography friendly 18.3mm f/2.8 lens, equivalent to 28mm in 35mm focal equivalent, providing you with a wide angle of view. The lens uses 7 glass elements in 5 groups, 2 of the elements are double-sided aspherical lenses to reduce aberrations. The optical surfaces are treated with a multi-coating process to deliver brilliant, high resolution images. The lens features an internal neutral density filter that's capable of two stops of light reduction for better exposure control. The 9 bladed iris aperture produces beautiful out of focus areas in your composition. The GR II can focus much closer than most other compact APS-C cameras with a minimum focus distance of around 4 inches.

Body and Controls

The GR II has a compact form factor that fits in the palm of the hand; 4.5 inches wide x 2.3 inches high x 1.4 inches deep and weighs in at 215 grams. The camera also remains discrete with settings to change shutter sounds and control over LCD monitor on/off behavior. The GR II has a highly detailed 3.0-inch 1.23m dot LCD monitor with brightness adjustment and a 3:2 aspect ratio.

The GR II provides a solid feel in the hands due to the magnesium alloy body that also gives it durability and reliability. Even with the durable construction this camera remains lightweight and portable with a small form factor that easily slides into a pants pocket. This camera maintains the classic feel with controls laid out in an intuitive manner to ensure you can quickly access settings with just one hand. The GR II offers 20 external controls that allows you to make changes to the focusing and metering modes along with everything else an avid photographer would need.

The GR II features a game-changing Snap zone focus mode that photographers love for quick shooting. This focus mode allows you to set your focus at a pre-determined distance. When you press the shutter slowly the camera auto focuses normally, but when you press it quickly the camera jumps to the preset distance when milliseconds count. Using this zone focus mode, the camera won't search for focus and risk potentially missing the photo.

Video

The GR II is capable of full HD 1080p video capture at 30fps. Filmmakers will love that you can autofocus, subject track, and automatically adjust exposure compensation during movie capture for changes in your scene. Creative effects can also be applied during movie capture.

WiFi/NFC/Bluetooth

The GR II has NFC, WiFi, and Bluetooth compatibility. Allowing you to connect devices to speed up your workflow and share your favorite photos. The GR II is compatible with NFC functions for easy pairing with smartphones and mobile devices, allowing you to touch the GR II to an android to pair. The GR II also has a remote app that lets you take full control of the camera using your mobile device. Control the camera's buttons and dials all while checking composition on your smartphone to produce great images.
