This
image was made for Unilever/Parfums International for use
as a POS poster in retail stores around the world. I had Denny
Manufacturing paint a special pink canvas with diagonal streaks
in white light and blue that matched the elements I intended
to use in the photograph. Elizabeth was seated comfortably
on a sofa, with a white satin remnant thrown across the back.
A second remnant in pink, to match the Harry Winston jewelry,
was draped around her shoulders.
I lit the image
with a main Photogenic strobe (in a pan light mounted on a
boom) and a large Broncolor softbox on a boom as a hair light.
An assistant moved a silvered reflector in and out as I shot
my motorized 35mm camera.
Elizabeth is normally quite tan. However, the lightness of
her skin in this particular session competed with th evariety
of pinks surrounding her. So I used a warming filter on my
lens to create a bit more brown in her skin tone.
